One of our taglines (we have a few, ha!) is “women’s health in the context of our culture.” What does this mean exactly? We are interested in the intersection of women’s health and the society we’ve been steeping in since birth. We are unabashed feminists and wrestle with what feminism means in the 21st century. All of us, men and women alike, have been steeped in patriarchy and we acknowledge the limitation of that for many men. Our focus here is supporting women to acknowledge the reality of day-to-day lived experiences and the way that economics, race, the political climate, sexual orientation and gender-identity intersect with a woman’s health and well-being.
This is complex stuff! We can’t wait to explore many of these topics in more depth through our podcast, The Feminologist. Please don’t go looking for it quite yet. We are launching this in early 2019. In the meantime, you can read some short articles about some of these intersections below.
